Anemia is a disease in which one has a low number of red blood cells to carry oxygen to the body. This can cause extreme fatigue and weakness.
Anemia is caused by a lack of iron in the diet. Spirulina helps with iron deficiency because it contains a large percentage of iron compared to most other foods.
Several independent research studies have shown that spirulina has a positive effect on anemia. Spirulina can increase the hemoglobin in red blood cells to improve the immune function and bring oxygen to tissues in the body.
